RevCo World - Paradiso
In the afternoon (3 PM) I did an interview with the legendary "Alfred Bos" (Oor) who I had not seen in years!
We both share the same ideas on music and the future of music ... all very serious and deep ;)) but hey Alfred
is the "Simon Vinkenoog" of pop and I love him and the honor was all mine! (the coffee too).
I also met the nice people of "Kindred Spirits" who will re-release my first album "Taking Snapshots Vol.1" and did a DJ set the same night.
I've played "Paradiso" many times ... but always came of stage with mixed feelings. I don't know? Is it the sound (big reverb) ?
Is it because the building used to be a church... or because every legend played that venue... the audience? ( No, not the audience!).
This time opening up for "D.A.F." (hey, I'm a huge fan!) and a strange sound-check didn't help my self-confidence much,
but to my surprise everything went well during the show and we got people dancing near the end of our set!
I was to shy to speak to Gabi und Robert... but I hope I did a good job as the warming up band ! DAF Rules!
Later that night "Mrs Oiso" did a DJ set and he was brilliant! Amsterdam! Always a nice surprise!
We stayed at the "Backstage Hotel" where all the furniture is made out of flightcase materials! (even the bed!) FREAKY !
but the hotel personnel was super helpful and very VERY! nice ( They made me sign their piano!? witch will be worth millions now!).
On Sunday we had coffee in the "Hotel Americain" where the walls are full of pictures of famous people...
and took a picture of the "ARBEID ADELT" knitting shop across the street that is still going!!! Very Nice indeed!
I mailed it to Jan & Marcel (but no response) Will the mighty AA! re-unite? (I don't know?)
